FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The answers to all your queries

  • What is the blown-in thermal insulation?
This quick, efficient and economic technique insulates from the cold, the heat and the noise. Insufflate means to introduce an insulating material into the facade’s air chamber, filling the hollow space and creating a homogeneous insulation throughout the wall.
  • How do I know whether my house is well insulated?
If you hear too much noise from the streets and neighbors, your house is not well insulated from the noise. If during winter you are cold even though the heating is on, if the house does not heat up to the designed temperature or if it gets cold quick, your house is not well insulated. You can also see that it is not well insulated if during summer, when the sun is in its peak hour, the temperature of the house increases even if the blinds are closed.
  • How can I know if I can get blown-in insulation in my house?
If you want to know if you can insulate your house via an insufflation process, the first thing you need to know is whether your walls have an air chamber. If when you get close to the sockets you feel an air current and when you touch the wall it makes a hollow sound, the facade has an air chamber. If your house was built between 1960 and 2006, it will probably have an air chamber. Anyways, one of our technicians can come to your house to check if there is an air chamber, measure its thickness and preparing a budget for the thermal insulation of your house.
  • How much does the insulation cost?
The price of thermal insulating an apartment through a blown-in process varies between 800€ and 1500€ approximately. A single-family house will go from 1200€ up to 2500€. The price will be higher than that for houses of big dimensions. It is the cheapest solution to avoid feeling too cold or too hot in your house because the treatment does not perish.
  • What percentage will I save in my bills if I insulate my house?
There is not an exact number to quantify the savings, it will depend on the type of house. Years of experience have proven that the savings may oscillate between a 20% and a 55%.
  • How is the insufflation process made?
The insufflation process is made via holes in the brick or partition wall. Through these holes we blow in the insulating material, which creates a homogeneous layer that covers the whole space. Once the insufflation is done, we cover the holes paying attention to the finishing touches so the intervention goes unnoticed.
  • Is the insufflation process made from inside or outside the house?
We can thermal insulate your home insufflating from inside or outside. The advantage of insufflating from the inside is avoiding scaffolding or other structures.
  • Is it complicated to set?
No way! On the contrary, it is very easy to set and we will be done in some hours or in a day. It does not need construction permits and we will only need extra equipment if the insufflation is taking place from the outside of an apartment several meters high.
  • How much does the thermal insulation last in a house?
Forever! What is more, it does not need maintenance, so there will be no extra costs. The price of your bills will decrease permanently, an advantage for your pocket and for the planet.
  • Are the insufflation materials safe?
In Efitervic, we do not use any hazardous or toxic insulating material. On the contrary, we use natural and safe materials with certificate of biosolubility. Moreover, they are fireproof, so they will protect you in case of fire.
